“A forest fire broke out during our raft trips today, engulfing the canyon in minutes. The guides had no good choice, but the best one was to paddle the trip right past the blaze. With fire lapping at both sides of the river, they made it through safely. Well done everyone. Well done.” Photo and words from White Water Rafting LLC, a rafting center and outfitter located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

The Grizzly Creek fire has grown 3,700 acres overnight with 0% containment. Interstate 70 remains closed both ways as the fire continues to grow. Residents of the nearby town of Glenwood Springs, have begun to evacuate. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
